Extreme Cold Weather Protection to -40°C

Extremely cold or wet weather conditions present a serious workplace hazard. Frostbite and hypothermia are real concerns for many industrial workers. Portwest has over 39 garments across our High Visibility, Rainwear and Flame-Resistant ranges certified to EN 342 for protection against cold.

WHAT IS EN 342?

EN 342 - Protective Clothing - Ensembles and Garments for Protection Against Cold
Protective clothing certified to the European Standard EN342 gives the wearer protection against the cold environment.  It specifies requirements and test methods for the performance of clothing ensembles (i.e. two piece suits or coveralls) for protection against the effects of cold environments equal to or below -5°C.

Garments are tested under the following performance parameters:

A = Thermal Insulation, measured value

B = Air Permeability Class (1 – 3 where 3 is best)

C = Resistance to Water Penetration Class (optional)
(1-2 where 2 is best)
