Nitrile, latex or vinyl

Nitrile is the strongest, resistant to many chemicals and causes no latex allergy: in workshops and industry it's the standard. Latex fits like a second skin and gives the most feel, but can cause allergic reactions in wearers and customers. Vinyl is the most economical and fine for short, clean tasks.

Mind thickness and certification

Thickness, expressed in mil or micron, determines how long a glove stays intact under rough work. If you want chemical protection, check whether the box carries an EN ISO 374 marking; a regular exam glove only protects against splashes. Never reuse disposable gloves: micro-tears aren't visible.

Only if they've been tested according to EN ISO 374 and that's stated on the box. A regular exam glove protects against splashes and dirt, but a thin nitrile glove lets many solvents through within minutes. For real chemical work, use a thicker, reusable chemical-resistant glove.

Waarom kiezen voor poedervrije wegwerphandschoenen?

Poedervrije handschoenen laten geen poederresten achter op je huid, producten of oppervlakken. Bij voedselbereiding, lakwerk en elektronica is zulke vervuiling ongewenst. Poeder maakt het aantrekken wel makkelijker, maar kan de huid irriteren. Daarom is poedervrij in de meeste beroepen de standaard geworden. Met droge, schone handen trek je ze bovendien makkelijker aan.

Welke maat wegwerphandschoen heb ik nodig?

Een wegwerphandschoen moet strak om je hand zitten zonder te knellen. Te groot geeft minder grip en de vingertoppen kunnen blijven haken; te klein scheurt sneller en vermoeit je handen. Meet de omtrek van je hand net onder de knokkels en vergelijk die met de maattabel. Twijfel je, probeer dan eerst één doos.
