Why a flame-retardant base layer?

During spark work, an ordinary cotton or synthetic T-shirt under your flame-retardant jacket can actually be dangerous because it can melt. Our polos and T-shirts are themselves also tested to EN ISO 11612.

Comfortable for extended wear

An ordinary synthetic T-shirt can melt from heat and worsen burns; a flame-retardant base layer prevents this risk.

Does this polo stay breathable despite the flame-retardant finish?

Yes, the fabric is breathable and moisture-wicking, also suitable for a full shift under protective clothing.

Kies ik een vlamvertragend shirt met lange of korte mouwen?

Lange mouwen bieden meer bescherming, omdat ook je armen bedekt zijn tegen vonken, hitte en spatten. Draag je het shirt onder een jas met lange mouwen, dan is korte mouw vaak prima en iets koeler. Werk je regelmatig zonder jas in een omgeving met vonken of vlamrisico, kies dan voor lange mouwen.

Kan ik een vlamvertragend shirt dragen als lasser?

Een shirt volgens EN ISO 11612 is geschikt als onderlaag, maar beschermt bij lassen niet voldoende als bovenkleding. Voor laswerk heb je bovenkleding nodig die getest is volgens EN ISO 11611, zoals een lasjas of lasoverall. Het vlamvertragende shirt draag je daaronder, zodat ook de laag op je huid niet kan smelten.
