Which visibility class do you need?

The EN ISO 20471 standard has three classes, based on the combined surface area of fluorescent and reflective material. Class 3 offers the most protection and is often prescribed for road workers and work directly alongside the carriageway; class 2 is often sufficient on a construction site further from traffic, and class 1 is used as an additional part of a larger outfit.

High visibility in every garment

Our range consists of jackets, trousers, coveralls and vests, so you can put together a complete outfit or simply add a single item. Lighter options such as a polo or T-shirt and a fleece are also available in high-visibility versions.

Combining with other protection

If, besides visibility, you also work with flames, chemicals or static electricity, Multinorm clothing with built-in high visibility is a solution. For cold or wet conditions, choose a lined version from Thermal/Freezer or waterproof rainwear.

Caring for reflective material

Wash high-visibility clothing according to the label and avoid fabric softener: this affects the reflective stripes. Replace clothing as soon as the fluorescent material discolours or the reflection visibly diminishes, even if the fabric itself is still intact.

Veelgestelde vragen

Which visibility class is mandatory for my job?

This depends on your employer's risk assessment and the environment: class 3 for work close alongside the carriageway, class 2 at a greater distance, class 1 as a supplement. If in doubt, check with your supervisor or safety officer.

Does high-visibility clothing stay just as visible after many washes?

When washed correctly without fabric softener and at the stated temperature, visibility is retained for a long time; replace clothing as soon as the reflective stripes visibly dull.

Can high visibility be combined with flame-retardant protection?

Yes, choose clothing from our Multinorm collection: this combines high visibility with flame-retardant or antistatic properties in a single garment.

Is a high-visibility polo enough for outdoor work?

A polo provides visibility from the upper legs up, but for full protection under the standard a combination with high-visibility trousers or a coverall is needed. See polo/T-shirt and trousers.
