The glove for everyday work

For most jobs, a knitted glove with a nitrile or PU coating on the palm is the right choice: enough grip, enough feel, a breathable back and a price where you simply replace it once it's worn out. For heavier work with rough material, choose a leather or reinforced version.

When do you move up to a specialized glove?

As soon as a specific risk comes into play: sharp edges call for cut-resistant gloves, chemicals for chemical-resistant ones, and cold for thermal gloves. Check the risk assessment to see which risks apply at the workplace.

Can I wash work gloves?

Knitted gloves with a coating can often be washed at 30 or 40 degrees, provided the manufacturer allows it; let them air dry. Leather gloves are better kept out of the machine, as they harden. Note: after washing, the protective performance can decrease, so check the glove afterward for tears and loose coating.
