Flame-retardant welding clothing

The basis of safe welding clothing is a flame-retardant material that doesn't burn through or smolder on contact with sparks. Our Flame-retardant collection includes jackets, sleeves and coveralls tested for this according to EN ISO 11611 and EN ISO 11612.

Welding gloves against heat and sparks

Regular work gloves offer insufficient protection against welding spatter. Specific welding gloves made of tanned leather with a lined gauntlet protect the wrist and forearm against heat; check the range at gloves.

Eye and face protection when welding

Bright light and UV radiation during welding can cause permanent eye damage. A welding helmet with the right filter glass is essential; in addition, our eye protection protects against flying particles during grinding and preparatory work.

Veelgestelde vragen

Which fabric is most suitable for welding clothing?

Tanned leather or specially treated, flame-retardant cotton (such as Proban) are most commonly used: they don't melt and stop sparks from burning through. See our Flame-retardant collection.

Are regular work gloves sufficient for welding?

No, always use specific welding gloves made of tanned leather with a lined, extended gauntlet; these also protect your wrist against heat and spatter. Check gloves.

Which standard applies to welding clothing?

Welding clothing is tested according to EN ISO 11611 (protection against welding spatter) and often combined with EN ISO 11612 (protection against heat and flames).

Is eye protection needed in addition to a welding helmet?

Yes, during grinding and preparatory work around welding, safety glasses protect against flying particles that aren't stopped by the welding helmet. See eye protection.
