The coating determines the grip
PU coating is thin, gives a lot of feel and works excellently for dry, precise work. Nitrile is thicker, resistant to oil and wear and therefore the workhorse choice in technical trades. Latex has the most grip for rough and wet work but can cause allergic reactions. Foamed or textured coatings displace oil and hold on even on greasy parts.
Grip without squeezing
Good grip isn't just comfort: anyone who has to squeeze to hold something tires their forearms and develops complaints over time. So choose a glove that fits precisely, with a breathable back so your hands don't sweat. If you also work with sharp edges, look at a coated glove with cut-resistant lining.
